Why low-dose/microdose?
Why low-dose/microdose?
Low/microdose GLP-1 therapy activates the same powerful metabolic pathways as higher doses, just in a more controlled, sustainable way.
For patients seeking optimization and with less weight to lose, these are great options to compliment a healthy lifestyle and fine-tune metabolism.
Patients often experience:
- Improved glucose and insulin function
- Sharper focus and less inflammation
- Reduced cravings and balanced appetite
- Minimal or no GI side effects
- Gradual, maintainable weight loss
- Steadier energy and mood
- Potential neuroprotective benefits
Microdose programs focus on optimization and prevention.
Low-dose programs support modest, sustainable weight loss and long-term metabolic balance.

Microdosing means using up to the typical starting dose of a GLP-1 medication, a gentle, longevity-focused approach that works with your body to restore balance, improve appetite control, and support steady metabolism without aggressive suppression.
Low-dose extends just beyond the starting dose, offering more noticeable fat-loss and appetite benefits while still minimizing side effects and maintaining energy and performance.
Both tiers can be highly effective, it’s about finding the level that aligns with your metabolism, lifestyle, and performance goals.
Medications:
Semaglutide offers a proven, cost-effective GLP-1 path to results. Tirzepatide delivers faster, deeper metabolic change. Both available in two dosing ranges.
Semaglutide: Microdose 0.125–0.25 mg/wk. Low-Dose 0.25–0.5 mg / wk
Tirzepatide: Microdose 1.0–2.5 mg/wk. Low-Dose 2.5–5.0 mg/wk.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are GLP-1 medications and how do they work?
GLP-1s are medications that mimic natural hormones your body produces (notably, GLP-1) to regulate blood sugar, appetite, and energy balance. At lower doses, they help improve metabolism, reduce inflammation, and support whole-body health. They may also offer neuroprotection.
Who's a good fit for this program?
Microdose is ideal for people focused on longevity, energy, inflammation, and subtle optimization that complements existing healthy habits. Low-Dose is best for those seeking stronger appetite control, steady fat loss, and deeper metabolic improvement while maintaining balance and comfort.

What is the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?
Semaglutide (the active ingredient in Wegovy® and Ozempic®) is a trusted, proven GLP-1 known for reliable results and strong safety data.
Tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Mounjaro® and Zepbound®) is a newer dual GIP and GLP-1 medication that provides stronger appetite control and broader metabolic benefits.
Levers uses compounded formulations of these same active ingredients, sourced from FDA-registered, LegitScript-certified pharmacies with personalized dosing for each patient. Levers is not affiliated with or endorsed by Novo Nordisk or Eli Lilly, and makes no claims on behalf of their products.
What's the difference between Microdose and Low-Dose programs?
Microdose programs focus on longevity, metabolic balance, and gentle support that builds over time. Doses stay at or below the typical starting weight loss dose: up to 0.25 mg per week for Semaglutide or up to 2.5 mg per week for Tirzepatide.
Low-Dose programs include all of those benefits with slightly higher dosing for stronger appetite control and fat-loss potential: up to 0.5 mg per week for Semaglutide or up to 5 mg per week for Tirzepatide.

Will I lose weight on a Microdose?
Many do over time, but not all, and it depends on the dosing too; everyone responds differently.
Microdosing is more about overall optimization and subtle improvements, which can impact body composition and fat loss too.
Microdose GLP-1 programs are designed to work gently with your body to improve metabolism, inflammation, and energy balance.
While some patients experience weight loss over time as they approach or reach the starting weight loss dose, others notice more subtle benefits like better energy, focus, or control around food.
Your provider will work with you to adjust dosing over time to find the level that best supports your goals.
When will my order ship?
Please allow up to 6 business days for your order to process. Once your order processes, it ships overnight via FedEx or UPS from our licensed pharmacy partners and you'll be emailed and texted a tracking number.
We can't ship to PO boxes.

Safety Information
Safety Overview
Levers’ Low and Microdose GLP-1 program uses compounded Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, two of the most studied and effective metabolic therapies available.
At lower doses, these medications promote stable metabolism, appetite regulation, and cardiometabolic protection with significantly fewer gastrointestinal side effects than standard dosing.
Both medications are part of the GLP-1 receptor agonist family (Tirzepatide also acts on GIP receptors). They help regulate blood sugar, promote satiety, and improve metabolic efficiency, supporting both weight control and long-term health optimization.
While safe and well tolerated for most adults, these are prescription medications that require proper screening for contraindications and ongoing clinical supervision. You can see common and potential side effects in the section below.
Side Effects
Side effects with low or micro doses are generally mild and temporary, and most patients tolerate treatment very well. But as with any GLP-1 medication, it’s important to understand what to expect and know when to contact your provider.
Most Common (mild to moderate):
- Nausea, stomach upset, or early satiety (most common, dose-dependent)
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Fatigue, lightheadedness, or transient “off” feeling after injection
- Headache or reflux (less common with low doses)
Less Common (moderate, occasionally requires dose adjustment).
- Persistent nausea or vomiting
- Heartburn or bloating
- Slight increase in heart rate
- Injection site redness or irritation
- Temporary changes in appetite or taste
- Hair thinning. Generally mild and temporary, often linked to rapid weight loss or reduced protein intake rather than the medication itself
- Mild dehydration due to reduced food and fluid intake
Rare but Serious (require immediate discontinuation and medical evaluation):
- Pancreatitis: Severe, lasting abdominal pain (may reach the back), with or without vomiting
- Gallbladder issues: Upper right abdominal pain, fever, or yellowing of skin/eyes
- Kidney problems: Low urine, leg swelling, or fatigue, associated with dehydration more than the medication.
- Vision changes: Blurred or worsening eyesight, report immediately
- Bowel Obstruction
- Allergic reaction: Swelling, hives, rash, or trouble breathing
- Thyroid warning: Avoid if you or family have MTC or MEN2 (thyroid tumor risk seen in rodents; not confirmed in humans)
