Sermorelin

Sermorelin is well-tolerated. It stimulates your body to increase its own natural production of Growth Hormone (GH), reducing the risk of imbalances or receptor saturation that are present when taking synthetic growth hormone (HGH), which can shut down natural growth hormone production.

It has been widely used for anti-aging, metabolism support, and overall wellness with a strong safety profile, and was FDA approved in 1997 under brand name Geref.

Those who inject growth hormone directly run the risk of sluggish return of their natural GH production when they stop injecting GH. Sermorelin stimulates your body to produce and release more of your own. This reduces the risk of getting too much growth hormone and won’t shut down your natural production of GH.

As with any hormone-related therapy, it should be used under medical supervision to ensure proper dosing and effectiveness.

While Sermorelin is generally safe, some individuals may experience mild side effects, including:

• Injection site reactions – Redness, swelling, or irritation at the injection site.
• Headaches or dizziness – Usually temporary and resolves as the body adjusts.
• Flushing or warmth – A mild warming sensation post-injection, more common in the first few weeks.
• Rare side effects – In rare cases, individuals may experience nausea, fatigue, fluid retention, tingling in extremities, and/or mild to severe allergic reactions.

Most side effects are temporary and mild. Individual responses vary and you could experience side effects not common or not listed. If symptoms persist or become severe, consult your healthcare provider.

Sermorelin can be started and stopped as desired without impact on your long term hormone balance.

We recommend at least 3-months on at a time, with 1-2 months off a year if doing continually. It is safe for prolonged use.

When discontinuing Sermorelin your natural GH levels won't drop below what they were prior to starting Sermorelin.

Individuals with a known allergy to Sermorelin, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those with active cancer should not use Sermorelin.

Thyroid Caution:
Patients with under-active thyroid/hypothyroidism should use caution as this condition can interfere with the effects of sermorelin.

Medications:
The following medications have the potential to interact with Sermorelin by decreasing the effectiveness of Sermorelin, but are not contraindicated. If you are on one of these medications consult with your prescribing physician of these medications, and be mindful of any changes in their effectiveness: 

1. Cyclooxygenase inhibitors (eg, aspirin, indomethacin) 
2. Glucocorticoids (eg, prednisone) 
3. Medicines that lower thyroid levels (eg, propylthiouracil) 
4. muscarinic antagonists (eg, atropine)
5. somatostatin-containing medicines or medicines that release somatostatin (eg, clonidine, levodopa) 

Supplements:

While some supplements may enhance or interfere with the effects of Sermorelin, not all potential interactions are known or well-studied. Individual responses can vary, and certain supplements may affect growth hormone regulation, metabolism, or overall well-being in unexpected ways. It’s important to monitor how you feel while taking Sermorelin and be mindful of any changes in energy levels, sleep, mood, or other health markers. 

1. High doses of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine): May interfere with GH secretion.
2. Zinc deficiency: Zinc is necessary for GH function; deficiency may reduce Sermorelin’s effectiveness.
3. Arginine supplementation: While arginine stimulates GH release, excessive use may alter natural GH pulsatility when combined with Sermorelin.

No conclusive studies show a direct link between Sermorelin and cancer, but caution is advised, and long-term data is still limited.

There is ongoing debate and research about the potential cancer risk associated with prolonged growth hormone therapy.

Growth hormone stimulates cell growth and regeneration, which raises concerns that it could potentially accelerate the growth of existing cancerous or pre-cancerous cells. However, there is no conclusive evidence that Sermorelin, which stimulates natural GH production rather than providing direct GH, increases cancer risk in healthy individuals. Those with a history of cancer or a high risk should consult their physician before use.

Takeaway

Sermorelin appears safer than exogenous HGH regarding cancer risk, but due to the role of GH and IGF-1 in cell growth, there is theoretical risk, especially for those with a history of cancer or high cancer susceptibility.
